Albany Academy and FTC Team 4809 will be hosting the 11th Annual Excelsior FTC Albany Academy Qualifying Tournament on Saturday, Jan 17, 2026. 28 teams are expected to attend, comprised of future scientists and engineers from the entire Excelsior region and beyond. The teams have designed and built robots to compete in this year's challenge.

What is FTC?
FTC, or FIRST Tech Challenge, is a global robotics competition for students aged 12-18. It is part of the broader FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) organization, which aims to inspire young people to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
