Decode 2025-2026
Bruce v2
Version 2 of Bruce kept the major design aspects of Version one - belt powered transfer, Limelight, and adjustable hood, among others - but made improvements in most other areas.
The intake was changed to use surgical-tube spokes in order to more effectively pull Artifacts into the robot; the Transfer Kicker was streamlined into being more reliable and avoiding jamming; and the Hood was redesigned to be able to cover a wider range of angles and be sturdier overall.
This also came with many small improvements and refinements, such as reworking the Turret mount, changing how the flywheel was powered to save space, and installing a proper 3D printer transfer and intake ramp.
Bruce v1
Version one of Bruce was designed around our game strategy - being able to cycle Artifacts as fast as possible. This was achieved by streamlining the design, while also being conscious of the time that we had. We used two rhino wheels in order to pull the Artifacts into the Transfer, which consisted of a motor-powered belt to pull the Artifacts to the Outtake and a servo powered kicker to control when they entered the outtake.
The Outtake is the most innovative part of Bruce’s design, using a Limelight 3A in order to be able to align to and get the distance and angle from the April tag on the goal. The adjustable hood then changes the shot angle to automatically aim at the goal based on this data.

Centerstage 2023-2024
This is Robin for the FTC Centerstage season. Typically, we call our robots Bruce. However, after a poor performance with Bruce in one of our tournaments, we opted for a support bot for the next tournament. Our support bot was called Robin and he led us to the regional championships!
